My journey to the skin care world started about 3 years ago. Growing up, I never bothered with anything related to beauty. It was not until I was 23 did I start painting my nails. With color.
Nail polish was my gate-way addiction to all things beauty, specifically skin care. The moment I noticed how amazing my skin looked and felt after sticking to a routine, I was hooked. In a matter of 3 years, I’ve accumulated hundreds and hundreds of bottles, jars, pots, packages, and boxes of skin care products to test, experiment, and play with. And I do not see an end to my obsession or exploration anytime soon.
Before this obsession settled in, I was on the opposite spectrum when it comes to beauty products. I was intimidated. I remember my first time walking into a Sephora sometime in my teen years. I immediately walked back outside because I was so overwhelmed by the amount of products and brands every way I turned in just one store. Nothing about it was exciting and I could not understand how anyone could stay in there for longer than 5 minutes. Nowadays, I take trips to Sephora like it’s a vacation. Each time I’m there, I stay for over an hour. Mini makeover, anyone?
A part of this change happened not only because I love skin care, but also because I am feeling more confident about beauty. I walk into a Sephora and I know where I’m going and I know what I am looking for. I am not (as) afraid of trying products. I get excited talking about skin care concerns and what to try. My friends ask me for advice and I basically throw products at them to experiment with. And this is what inspired me and motivated me to start this blog. All I want to do is talk about skin care and help people with their skin concerns based on my own experiences with the different brands and products.
The skin care world is huge and it’s going to continue growing. Some products work and some don’t. Different regions and different seasons require different care and products. I’m making it a personal goal to share my experiences so that everyone else can also appreciate and not be intimidated by skin care.
